If you called and described your project without naming a size, there is a good chance we would put a 20 on the truck. Twenty-two by eight by four and a half feet, three to four tons, six to eight pickup loads — it is the container that matches how Parker homeowners actually renovate: several rooms at once, over a couple of weekends, with one box in the driveway the whole time.

  • Capacity20 cubic yards
  • Footprint22 ft x 8 ft x 4.5 ft
  • Weight allowance3 – 4 tons
  • Holds about~6 – 8 pickup truck loads

Why people choose the 20 yard

A first-refresh kitchen is the classic 20 yard job. Builder-grade uppers and lowers, laminate counters, a soffit, the appliances that came with the house in 2003 and the vinyl underneath it all. Cabinets are mostly air once they come off the wall, so volume runs out long before weight does. That is the profile the 20 is built for, and why one box usually covers the whole tear-out.

Basement finishes work the same way in reverse. You are not demolishing much, but framing offcuts, drywall scrap, carpet rolls, packaging and the stored boxes that were down there for fifteen years add up fast. Pair it with a three-bedroom cleanout and you have the other half of our 20 yard work — see residential dumpster rental for how we schedule those.

Watch the mixed load. The moment tile, mortar, stone counters or a flagstone patio enter the picture, the 20 stops being a volume question. Half a box of dense material can put you over allowance while the walls still look empty. When a project has both, we run a small container for the heavy fraction and a 20 for everything else. It costs less grief than one overweight haul.

Good fit for

  • Kitchen tear-out including cabinets and appliances
  • Basement finish scrap, framing offcuts and packaging
  • Multi-room flooring replacement across a whole level
  • Three-bedroom house cleanout before a sale
  • Bathroom plus bedroom remodel running together
  • Larger deck removal with stairs and railings
  • Siding, soffit and fascia replacement after hail
  • Garage and storage clearout with bulky items

Not the right size for

  • Concrete, brick, tile or landscape rock loads
  • Whole-house gut down to the studs
  • New construction framing on a full build
  • Arena sand, gravel or stripped sod

Will it fit?

Twenty-two feet of container plus room to work means about 60 feet of driveway and 22 feet of overhead clearance. Most Parker three-car driveways take a 20 without touching the sidewalk, though older Mainstreet-area lots and cul-de-sac pie slices get tight and we would rather look at a photo than guess. Protection boards go under the rails as standard on the bentonite clay that already stresses these slabs. Where the drive is too short, the street may be an option with the right permission from the city and your association.

Before delivery, move cars and bins, mark irrigation heads and septic lids, and tell us about new concrete, soft ground, a steep grade or low power lines. Our delivery and driveway protection guide covers all of it.

20 Yard Dumpster FAQs

Is a 20 yard dumpster the right size for a kitchen remodel?

For a standard Parker kitchen, yes — cabinets, counters, appliances, drywall and the flooring underneath usually land between twelve and eighteen cubic yards. The exception is stone. Granite or quartz slabs and a tile floor with mortar bed can add a ton in a hurry, so mention them when you book. We will either flag a fill line or put a small container alongside for the heavy fraction.

Will a 20 yard fit on a normal residential driveway?

Usually. The box needs 22 feet and the truck needs roughly 60 feet of straight run to set it down cleanly. Standard three-car driveways in Stonegate, Canterberry Crossing and Stroh Ranch handle it comfortably. Steep drives, tight cul-de-sac aprons and anything with a low limb or gate arch overhead need a quick look first. Text us a photo of the approach and we will tell you before the truck rolls.

Can I mix drywall, wood, carpet and old furniture in one load?

Yes. Mixed household and remodel debris goes in together and gets sorted at the transfer station, where clean wood, metal and cardboard are pulled for recovery. What cannot ride along is asbestos-containing material, electronics, leftover paint, chemicals, tires and anything under pressure. Colorado bans televisions and computers from landfill, and PaintCare takes architectural paint. Our Douglas County disposal guide lists the details.

How much weight comes with a 20 yard, and what if I go over?

A 20 carries roughly three to four tons before overage applies. That is generous for household and remodel debris and easy to blow past with anything mineral — tile, mortar, stone, rock or soil. We would rather adjust the plan up front than surprise you afterward, so describe the heaviest thing going in when you call. Flat-rate pricing means you know the number before the box arrives.

How fast can you get one here?

Same-day delivery is realistic across Parker, Lone Tree and Castle Rock if you call in the morning, and next-day is routine. Swap-outs run next day, which matters on a remodel with a crew on the clock. Give us the gate code for covenanted communities and tell us where you want the box facing, since which end the door opens on decides how the whole job loads. See same-day dumpster rental.
