The 15 yard is the size most people should have booked and did not know existed. At 16 by 8 by 4 feet it swallows one gutted room or one modest roof, holds four to five pickup loads and still parks inside a covenanted driveway without argument. In a market built on first-refresh work, that is the shape of most jobs.

  • Footprint16 ft x 8 ft x 4 ft

Why people choose the 15 yard

Parker housing is newer than the rest of the metro, mostly 1990s through 2010s, so the work here is rarely a full teardown. It is one builder-grade bathroom taken to the studs, one bedroom stripped of carpet, pad and tack strip, one laundry reworked. Those jobs make three to four cubic yards of drywall and trim plus a tub and a vanity, and they land squarely in a 15.

Then there is hail. From May through September the Front Range gets worked over and roofs become the biggest single driver of demand in Douglas County. A 15 yard takes a single architectural layer across roughly twelve to sixteen squares before tonnage becomes the limit, which covers a lot of Parker rooflines. Two layers, heavy tile or a big spread and we step you up — see roofing dumpster rental.

Sixteen feet also keeps you legal with the neighbours. Most associations here cap how long a container may sit and insist it stays on your concrete, never on the street or the turf strip. A 15 leaves a car length of apron free, which is often the difference between a quiet week and a letter from the architectural committee. Rules do get revised, so check yours before you book.

Good fit for

  • Single bathroom or laundry taken to the studs
  • One-layer shingle tear-off on a mid-size roof
  • Carpet, pad and tack strip from a full floor
  • Builder-grade vanity, tub and tile surround
  • Small deck removal, roughly ten by twelve feet
  • Fence panel and post replacement on a standard lot
  • Garage clearout down to bare shelving and boxes
  • Basement storage purge ahead of a finish

Not the right size for

  • Concrete, rock or brick — step down to a 10
  • Whole-house estate cleanouts with bulky furniture
  • Full kitchen plus flooring in one pull
  • Two-layer tear-off on a large roof

Will it fit?

Plan on 24 feet of clear length for the container and about 60 feet of straight approach so the truck can line up and back in. The rails are low enough to load over comfortably, and the rear door swings wide if you would rather walk debris in than lift it. Keep 20 feet of overhead clear for the hoist — low limbs, service drops and any decorative arch over the drive. On sloped Idyllwilde and Canterberry lots we chock and board the downhill side before the box comes off.

Before delivery, move cars and bins, mark irrigation heads and septic lids, and tell us about new concrete, soft ground, a steep grade or low power lines. Our delivery and driveway protection guide covers all of it.

15 Yard Dumpster FAQs

Is a 15 yard dumpster big enough for a roof tear-off?

For a single architectural layer over roughly twelve to sixteen squares, yes. Shingles are heavier than they look, so tonnage usually caps you before the walls do. Add a second layer, wood shake underneath or a steep multi-facet roof and you want the next size up. Tell us the square count, the number of layers and the pitch and we will size it. Our roof tear-off sizing guide walks through the numbers.

What is the real difference between a 10 and a 15 yard?

Four feet of length and six extra inches of wall, which sounds small and changes the job. Both carry a similar tonnage allowance, so the 15 does not let you load more concrete — it gives you more room for light, bulky material like drywall, cabinets and carpet. Choose the 10 when the debris is dense and the 15 when it is fluffy. That single rule settles most sizing calls in Parker.

Can I put an old deck in a 15 yard?

A ten by twelve deck with railings usually fits once the boards are cut down and the framing is stacked rather than thrown. Anything larger, or a deck with a pergola, stairs and footings attached, needs a 20. Concrete footings are the catch: pull them and they can eat your whole weight allowance, so set them aside for a separate small container. See deck removal debris planning.

How long can a 15 yard sit in my driveway?

As long as you need it from our side. Your association is the tighter constraint — many Parker and Stroh Ranch covenants allow somewhere around seven to fourteen days, and some require notice or design review before exterior work even starts. Enforcement and wording vary by community and boards update them, so confirm with your HOA or metro district first. We will schedule delivery and pickup around whatever window you are given.

Do you deliver a 15 yard the same day?

Often, if you call early. Same-day and next-day delivery across Parker, Franktown and the south-east metro is normal for us, and swap-outs are next day so a crew is never idle. Gated communities need a gate code or a call-box name at booking, and acreage drives off Hilltop or Crowfoot Valley need a turnaround we can actually use. Call and we will tell you honestly what today looks like.
