Roll-off containers for Louviers homes and jobsites

Louviers is unlike anywhere else in Douglas County: a preserved company town of roughly 300 people on the west side of US-85, built by DuPont starting in 1906 to house workers at its dynamite plant. The houses are small, close together and more than a century old, laid out in the original Triangle, Quadrangle and Capital Hill sections. That makes the work here very specific. Cottage renovations, roof replacements, foundation and crawlspace repairs, and estate cleanouts on homes that have not been emptied in decades. Older materials are the constant. Every project needs a plan for what is behind the plaster before demolition starts.

What we know about working in Louviers

DuPont built the village in stages: twenty-three cottages under 500 square feet in the Triangle, sixty larger homes up to 1,000 square feet in the Quadrangle around 1911 and 1915, and four management houses on Capital Hill in 1912. The company sold the houses to residents in 1962, and the plant closed in 1971. The Louviers Village Club, built in 1917, is on the National Register and remains the community center. What that history means practically is a very old, very small housing stock with lead paint, asbestos in siding, floor tile, plaster and pipe wrap, knob-and-tube remnants and undersized crawlspaces. Streets are narrow, lots are tight, driveways are short or absent, and mature trees line the village. Container size and placement need more thought here than almost anywhere else we serve.

Getting a truck to you

We head west on Castle Pines Parkway or Titan Road to US-85, then south to the Louviers turn. The drive is straightforward. The village is not. Streets are narrow with limited turning room, driveways are short and many houses have none at all, and trees overhang the lanes. A 10 or 15 yard container is usually the right answer, and we sometimes need a neighbor's cooperation on parking to get the truck positioned.

Routes we run: US-85 (Santa Fe Drive), Titan Road, Louviers Boulevard, C-470.

Permits, streets and placement in Louviers

On a private driveway in Louviers you generally do not need a municipal permit. Placement in the public street or right-of-way is a different matter and normally requires approval — from the borough or township where the road is locally maintained, or from CDOT where it is a state route. Every municipality in Douglas County runs its own form and its own lead time, and older streets here often have no off-street parking at all, so plan the permit before you plan the delivery. It is a ten-minute call that saves a week.

Our permit and placement guide walks through the whole process, and CDPHE publishes the Covered Device Recycling Act rules and the other statewide disposal restrictions that apply to every load we haul out of Louviers. County recycling and household hazardous waste dates are published by Douglas County.

Dumpster Rental in Louviers — FAQs

My Louviers cottage was built around 1912. What do I need to know?

Assume hazardous materials until tested. Homes of this age commonly have lead paint throughout and asbestos in cement siding, roofing felt, floor tile, mastic, plaster systems and pipe insulation. Colorado requires inspection before demolition disturbs those materials, and abatement has to be done by a licensed contractor with separate disposal. Once documented, the ordinary lumber, plaster and roofing debris rides in the container.

There is barely room for a truck on my street. What size should I get?

Go small. A 10 or 15 yard container is roughly eight feet wide and twelve to fourteen feet long, which fits the village's short driveways and narrow lanes far better than a 30 yard. Two smaller hauls almost always work out better here than one oversized box that cannot be positioned. Send a photo of the street and the frontage and we will size it for you.

Does the village have restrictions on containers in the street?

Louviers is unincorporated, so Douglas County right-of-way rules apply rather than a municipal code, and a container in the roadway on these narrow lanes can block access for neighbors and emergency vehicles. On-property placement is strongly preferred. Where a house genuinely has no driveway, we will look at the shortest possible street placement with proper marking and coordinate the timing to minimize disruption.

How quickly can you deliver a dumpster to Louviers?

Louviers is about 17 miles southwest of Parker, so it is a routine run for us. Same-day delivery is usually possible if you call before about 11am, and next morning otherwise. Storm weeks and the spring remodeling peak can stretch that, and we will tell you honestly when you call.

Do you charge extra to deliver to Louviers?

No. Louviers sits inside our standard service area and the flat rate is the same as it is in Parker. Delivery, pickup, your rental window and disposal up to the agreed tonnage are all included in the number we quote you.

What size dumpster do most Louviers customers take?

A 20 yard is the most common by a wide margin — it suits kitchen guts, multi-room renovations and three-bedroom house cleanouts. But if you are stripping plaster and lath out of a pre-war house, or moving coal-era brick, stone or concrete, size DOWN to a 10 yard heavy container and take two hauls — that material hits the weight limit long before it fills the box.
